The Allentown Brew Works is much like its Bethlehem sister — but super-sized. The four-floor brew pub — which includes the basement Silk Lounge and top-floor, private-event banquet room — seats 400 people. High, high ceilings showcase open duct work and accommodate the occasional piece of well-placed, large-scale contemporary art. Exposed brick, shiny golden wooden floors and trendy lighting add character and style. The food, which includes several beer-infused dishes, is solid and the brews hit the spot.

I die for French fries

I like the French fries here, and here, and here...

Best Places For Pub Grub and Glug

My playlist includes some of the Valley's most stellar bars. In considering what places to choose, I thought of the atmosphere (fun and possibly dance-friendly), the food (cheap pizza and wings), and the booze (more than just Natty Lite.)

Places which inspire the drunken Irish writer in me.

The best spots to get your drink on. I like my bars sedate and pub-ish. The music needs to be quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
