A recent renovation made the Allentown branch of the popular four-restaurant Valley chain larger, flashier and friendlier. The sports bar expanded from 60 to 200 seats, 28 new flat-screen HDTVs were installed and a smoke-free dining room was added. Popular activities include eating a rack of ribs and stromboli while watching all the NFL games on Sundays. New incentives include a Buffalo-wing-eating contest. Be sure to ask about Big Woody, aka Elwood Marcks Sr., a former offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles. At 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds, he still looks like he could block defensive ends.
