They shoulda been contenders

In every award season there are always a few great performances that slip through the cracks, unrecognized by the voters of the Golden Globe, SAG and Academy awards. These worthy actors might lack the name recognition of higher profile contenders, or star in films released too early in the year to be widely remembered when it's time to vote, or find themselves in the shadow of celebrated co-stars.

Whatever the case, they have our support. And, who knows, maybe a few of them will make surprise appearances on the list when Oscar nominees are revealed on January 22.
