Creem: America's Only Rock 'N' Roll Magazine (Collins)
This controversial retrospective shows how a small music magazine out of Detroit, MI became one of the most influential and important rock reads of all time. Where Lester Bangs made his legend and “Boy Howdy!” was the beer of choice among rock gods, Creem is lovingly chronicled in this brash, bawdy and NSFW book. Acts like Aerosmith, Queen and Led Zeppelin are lionized as the true cultural forces they were at the time, but rarely got credit for being in higher-profile mags. Amazing photography and druggy prose abound.
