The Buckeye is a bull’s-eye for rustic sophistication. Stone walls and fireplaces date from 1768, when the building opened as an eatery (!). The impressively large, diverse menu features cross-breeds: Southwest chicken egg rolls; tortilla-crusted tilapia; California Cobb salad with pesto salmon, avocado and black beans. Among the house favorites is the Black Diamond cheesesteak sandwich with mushrooms, cheese, onions and barbecue sauce, also a hit at Musikfest. And don’t forget to nosh on some of the best pickles west of New York City’s Jewish delis.
