Dinner and a show at the A-1 Japanese Steakhouse involves traditional hibachi tables blended with theatrically “bloody" and “fiery” food preparation. But if communal dining and theatrics don’t suit a patron, A-1 still offers a quieter sushi bar and separate dining room for more intimate meals, where a soothing atmosphere and traditional Japanese decor round out A-1’s appearance. The wide-ranging menu includes many varieties of chicken, steak, beef, salmon, scallops, shrimp, calamari, and, of course, sushi. (The varieties of sushi are varied enough to call for their own menu.) Pricing for lunches and dinners runs reasonable to moderate, allowing for either an affordable family night out or a more extravagant dinner for one or two.
