We have dined at the Melt many times. Although we knew we were paying outrageous prices for pasta, the atmosphere was fun and upbeat. Recently, I had a reaction to my meal later that night which is usually associated with consuming way too much salt and/or other flavor enhancers. I will not return to the Melt until I hear that they have a new chef.

I personally enjoy Tika's a lot. The service is unlike any I've ever had. The servers always seem to have smiles on their faces, and they also get the food out in a timely fashion. They're very polite and helpful. As for the food, there are so many items on the menu to chose from. They have something for anyone. There are wraps and salads, as well as burgers and taccos. Everything. No matter what you're hungry for, Tika's probably has something for you. The decorations are also very festive, yet not too distracting or over-done. Overall, Tika's is one of many great places to eat in Downtown Bethlehem, and I highly reccomend it.

YamahaR1 wrote about Braveheart Highland Pub

For one, this place is not where you want to come and hang around the bar, meet and greet people, or watch a football game. It seems like more of a place to eat lunch. The food is not terrific, but not horrible. I have eaten here twice. I understand they brought this type of establishment to Hellertown so people can feel like they're not in a dive bar, which it isn't by the way, but the prices are not in line with the qaulity of the food. This is really just a good place to bring a friend or date and have a few drinks at the bar low key style. Head to Bethlehem for good food....

The food at this place is very bad. The wings I had made me very sick. The service is also extremely bad. Waiters and management behave very rude, impolite and treat everybody as if they were garbage. If you want to get sick and be treated like trash, this is the place to go to; otherwise, if you have some common sense avoid this place at all costs.

tom1268 wrote about The Galley

We always like to try new restuarants and I wish I would have read the reviews before going to the Galley. I find it humorous that they consider the atmosphere "upscale". It is anything but. They have a piano player who was very good, however, it was more like being in a club...it was so loud, you could not even hear yourself think, let alone have a conversation with your party. It was not busy at all, yet we waited about 15 minutes for the waitress to even come back to our table to get a round of drinks. The food was average, service was horrible and overall, we will NEVER be going back to this restuarant.

Isabel wrote about Tap and Table Gastropub

When we first walked in I thought, "Oh no," seeing the large communal-style table in the middle of the room, knowing my husband enjoys eating with strangers as much as he enjoys dental work. Luckily we were seated at a 2-top in the back, although the proximity to the swinging kitchen door had my husband flinching a few times as he watched server's plate-laden arms swing by the back of my head. The food is just fantastic. Appetizers: Lobster Mac & Cheese ($9) was rich and creamy, had several tender and buttery pieces of lobster (more than expected!) and was so delicious I kept trying scoop the remaining sauce out of the bottom of my bowl with my pinkie without anyone seeing. Olives and Charcuterie platter ($13) was large and unusual, with duck proscuitto, garlic sausage, other dried meats, olives, a cheese and herb 'salad', bread rounds. I admired the view but never got a bite, I was told it was amazing after it disappeared. For dinner we ordered the Lump Crab Cake Sandwich ($13) and Braised Beef Short Ribs ($17), and a side order of Pomme Frites ($6) all outstanding. Crab cake was fresh and simple, served on light, buttery brioche which lets you really taste the crab, although I really didn't taste the sauce on top at all and couldn't name it. The braised beef was fork tender, in a very rich reduction that had us both dipping our fries in (and refusing to let anyone take our plates!) It's a really familiar comfort food dish that was still so unfamiliar with the flavors (and I could never get mine that tender, either.) The fries also came with a homemade ketchup/mustard/mayo trio that made it hard to decide where to dip first. Fries were very fresh, lightly cooked and salted, and never stood a chance. We ate my share of fries plus the entire, very large side order. Extensive, crazy, different beer menu that a real fan would go nuts for. Drinks for us ran $8-9 each for standard items. All of the downsides are practical matters: The parking lot is total chaos - cars are parked haphazardly everywhere on the pitch black grass and gravel lot, which slopes sharply downward. The place is tiny and loud; while they've done a lot with the given space but there's only so much that can be done other than making it bigger. On a Friday night it was very loud and lively, and lots of happy people at the bar, but there's no room to walk if the servers are in the aisles. If you're a couple you'll want to ask for one the two-seater tables (I only saw 3, 1 in back, 2 by the bar?) but those are tall bar tables with stools instead of chairs. Just something to consider so it's not a surprise. The four-person tables are standard w/regular chairs along the wall. I do have to say, next time I'll just wear flat shoes for the parking lot; hell, I'll even bring a flashlight and maybe try to find 2 other friends we want to bring to snag one of those lower side tables - because the food is totally amazing and I just can't wait to go back again. We loved it!

First greeted by a pushy young girl maybe 10-12 years old. Then we had to wait for over an hour for a table even though we had been there before other people. Our waitress, Kathy, was not even friendly. She acted as if we were bothering her. She was very abrupt. Funny she seemed to have changed her tune when she was told that my husband is a Doctor. Kathy I found out later is related to the owner. I will certainly tell everyone I know never to go to that cafe.

neek740 wrote about 4 Aces Grill

Excellent food here, but I've given them 3 chances at lunch, twice we were forgotten about and couldn't order without going up to the counter. Waitress is impossible to find half the time. At least 25 minutes went by while we were just sitting with drinks and waiting to order. One time the chef came to ask us how everything was while we were waiting for a waitress to order. The third time service was very sluggish. Somebody was inside smoking today. It's not like there were lots of tables to wait on, just one other occupied and it's only one room! Not good if you're on a strict one hour lunch, you need to allow at least 1 1/2 hours to eat regardless of how busy. Otherwise very good food, great decor and atmosphere. I hope they can keep it together and do well.

foodcritic wrote about Emeril's Chop House

While I enjoyed the decor and service of Emeril's I think there are better places in this price range as far as cuisine. My calamari app. was soggy and I knew the oil was not hot enough. Something as basic as fried calamari was really a disappointment. The entree was really over spiced I didn't get the taste of the smoked mozerella sauce because it was just too overspiced and the serving was really small for 28 dollars. My chocolate bread pudding was wonderful. The one thing that bothered me the most was you have to walk through the Casino to get to the resturant and it was extremely smoky. I am a non-smoker and don't want to smell like a cigarette all night so for that reason alone I would not go back. If there were a seperate entrance on the outside I would try it again sometime. All in all I would rather go to 3501 Grille or Pacifico.

stuckinreverse wrote about Alliance Hotel

For a small town bar the food is great. It's not a restaraunt so I don't expect my food to come out in 5 minutes. It's nice to socialize with the other patrons while I wait for my meal. The owners are friendly and the atmosphere is genuinely pleasant. I would recommend if you are in the area, to stop in!!

Isabel wrote about The Stoned Crab

I can't tell you how disappointed we are not to love this place. Local, seafood, it would seem right up our alley, however it went wrong from the get-go. Server seemed overworked, ran off quickly with only a cursory check. Fried Calamari app ($9) was standard pizzaria fare; Crab tots ($8) were tasty but they were cold in the middle. I complained and they were quickly comp'd by the management, who seemed on the ball and very involved which is a plus. There was an oddly large amount of dip for so few items. Pan-seared diver scallops ($20) was 4 scallops on a bed of bow-tie pasta with a little bit of spinach. The menu listed it as "pinot grigio wilted spinach" so I assumed it would be separate, yet the spinach was just mixed into the pasta and nothing special. Nice, but not up to the description. Husband's "Gulf Coast Combination" ($26) of scallops, shrimp, and crab cake was 4 shrimp, 3 scallops, 1 crab cake over a fabulous bed of risotto -- but one of the shrimp was poorly cleaned (ick) and the scallops were a little fishy. With one martini each plus a bottle of wine the total tab including tax (but not tip) was $110. The quality doesn't match the price, especially when you get (frozen) deli rolls instead of bread and murky, pre-mixed olive oil (really? you can't just have a nice quality olive oil with a fresh, local bread?) I'm afraid we won't be back.

I don't care how cheap the food is!! First we were treated rudely by a tacky looking hostess with skin tight clothes and huge chip on her shoulder - she ignored us while she chatted on the phone....looked right at us and never acknowledged we were there. Then when she could finally peel herself from her phone call she seemed annoyed, never appologised and clearly didn't want to bother seating us. The diner was filthy, food all under our booth and table was sticky....the server was pleasant she was the only one. Food was over cooked and bland, but you get what you pay for. We will NEVER eat here again. You would be far better off eating at McDonalds, at least it would be clean and the staff has more class.

This place makes me nuts. Tiny portions, big prices. This dump makes Taco Bell look like a Michelin guide place! I can't believe they are still in business. I'm not saying the food tastes bad, well, yes I am. Some of it is really crap, but hey, nothing like a pissed off owner to set you all straight. What a laugh. Next!

This authentic italian restaurant was everything we wanted for a romantic valentines daay dinner. It was recomended by a friend. The food was excellent and the service was just wonderful. Our server Chris and one other young gentleman were the only servers in the whole packed restaurant and somehow still found time to explain food options and meet every task asked of them promptly. Whoever the chef was compliments to the chef! GREAT EXPERIENCE. you can tell the whole staff really takes pride in catering to your dining experience and VERY romantic atmosphere for a date.

Zandy's is the best, there cheese steaks are really good after Philly and I am proud to have them near home, they are very similar but still better than the Brass Rail, but my favorite Lehigh Valley Cheese Steaks are from another Allentown tradition shop called Vinces, I use to get Vinces at the Allentown fair for many years and there steaks are just a lot better than Zandys and know they have a permante location located next to Wal-Mart in Trexlertown and they also know have good pizza but the Lehigh Valley's best cheese steaks try them for your selves.

The food was mediocre at best. Service was slow and poor along with an unpleasant waitress. Ambiance was lacking. The only thing that made the almost 1hr wait for food bearable was the fact that we had window seats and could watch the hustle bustle of downtown Bethlehem go by. Don't recommend...Won't go back!! Too bad though the owner is probably unaware of the bad service given by his waitstaff.
